Although we are young, we are many. We, the 'kids', will live here longer than the adults. WE have to abide by the rules that the teachers make. with every rule they pile on, we lose more of our rights as 'kids'. We get privilages taken away at home already, we don't need more taken away at school! If teachers pile on rule after rule to the school's 'constitution' then what's the point to going? School takes up most of our lives than at home! 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, we work. THe adults think it's easy to learn with out wanting to have fun. They think their jobs are harder than school. WRONG! School, you see, is our job! It's hard learning things you don't know or have barely even heard of. We have to memorize words, dates, and learning to write and speak properly. Sometime, after learning so much, we just have to relax and kick back. Listen to music. That, for us is an escape from our hard work throughout the days and weeks. A lot of pressure is put on us daily. 'You must learn this or that' or 'you must memorize this or that', it gets hard to concentrate at times under pressure. The escape is listening to music! We know that the school doesn't have enough money for music and the equipment. That is why we, the kids, bring out Cd players and a few Cds, so we can listen to our music! Our music, as in, what we have the right to listen to. Every individual has their own taste for music. For example, one person may want to listen to rap music, while another person would want classical. Sure, this may take away from the student learning experience, but it's the student's problem. Also, it is shown that for kids with A.D.D. and Sequential Disorder Syndrome that music helps them learn and memorize the materials that they can't without it. It's not like the teachers will get deductions from their pay if the students fail. Teacher don't get a raise in their pay if the students do well either. It is the same with Game Systems (such as Gameboys and Portable Play Stations). Sure, they distract some student's learning at times, but as long as the station in the class is OFF, it will not distract the learning of the other students who want to learn and do well in school. We, Natsu and Haru, shall end this petition with a thank you to all that shall read it and/or sign it. Thank you.
