ChapparChiri is for Banda Singh Bhadur and Khalsa Raj. Don't shy away from the facts under BJP advice.
But Punjab Government thinks otherwise.
They feel Banda Singh Bahadur used to wear a helmet.
They feel he had nothing to do with the Khalsa Raj
They completely want to ignore the Sikh Architecture
They are building a memorial at ChapparChiri, good, very good. But they don't talk about Khalsa Raj. They show him as wearing a Helmet - What about the Turbaned Sikh? They want to demolish the concept that a Sikh in Turban does not need a Helmet !
The architecture is more like a Hindu architecture - Big base, narrow top. All mandirs are like that. Sikh Architecture is completely different.
Though the place is for Banda Singh Bahadur, his name is NOT there. It is called FATEH MINAR ! (why Minar?) 50 years down the line who will remember that this is the place for Bhanda Singh Bahadur?
They should simply call it "Khalsa Raj Burj" - that would make sense and any person can identify with the history behind.
The Govt is afraid to make amends, and you and I and everyone knows what is happening.
During the inauguration, BJP Minister, Shri Manoranjan Kalia while addressing a gathering of 1000's of sikhs called Banda Singh Bahadur as "Bairagi Bhanda Bhadur". The intentions were very clear and now they are showing.
It is the fault of our "leaders" who shared the dias, but did not stand up and object. Now we have to stand up and make amends for them.
