Petition Calderdale Metropolitan Borough to abolish the unfair 'admin' charge of £25 per permit. This permit does not even guarantee a parking space - particularly in areas where shoppers etc are also allowed to park. It is also a breach of our rights as human beings to charge us for the privilage of having visitors.
Another example of Calderdale Council working to their own agenda rather than representing the interests of council tax payers. This is just another tax on the motorist and hits working families who can ill afford it.
They are OUR streets. As homeowners we may not own the road outside - but we have invested money and time and commited ourselves to the area and the local economy. We are raising our families on these streets and another cheeky tax just serves to further reduce, however slightly, our standard of living. I could tax two of my old motorcycles for £75. We deserve to be treated with far more respect than this.
