This is a petition against EA Sports for releasing an unfairly made Nintendo Wii version of NBA Live 08. For all that doesn't know, EA Sports recently released NBA Live 08 multi-platform across Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Each version excluding the Nintendo Wii version is virtually identical... Excluding the Playstation 2 version which of course is considerably weaker than Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. But even then, the Playstation 2 version still maintains all of the modes, presentation gameplay and features of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions. Whereas the console power isn't a crutch to what's in the game. But even so with the Playstation 2 version, EA decided to release the game for $39.99. The Nintendo Wii version shipped using somewhat unresponsive motion controls (which is not as bad)... You can't pump fake, so you find yourself getting blocked by the computer over 5 times in one play, and a combined possibility of over 16 times by the end of the game. The game has a Adidas and Jordan license but EA decided not to use signature shoes. Everyone in the game and ALL teams are wearing the same exact shoes. Unless the shoes are hidden and needs to be unlocked, this is false advertising for all that doesn't know. You can't perform spin moves. It has FIBA teams but no tournament (not a big deal though we knew of that). No create or edit player modes... Greg Oden is NOT #20!!! INEXCUSABLE! Joakim Noah has no reason to NOT be in this game on the Bulls. Yi is not that bad of an exclusion because he took so long to decide to sign. And I believe it's a possibility that JJ Reddick and Rashard Lewis are wearing the exact same jersey number (#7) in this game on Orlando. I read that the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2 versions of the game has a highlight reel... Nonexistant in the Wii version. The credits at the beginning of the game even mentions "All videos are taken from the 2006-2007 NBA seasons"... There are NO videos. whatsoever in this game! There is no on court referee in the game, so the realism is really shot when it comes down to jumpballs and on court calls. There are no coaches or A FREAKING BENCH FOR THAT MATTER for players to go to when they are out of the game. EA didn't release any information on the Wii version of NBA Live 08 throughout the entire production and launch window (which i now think was intentional to gain a quick and guilty buck)... The ONLY exclusive info we got was that it was coming on Wii, it is online (RELEASE A PATCH EA!) and that the controls were motion sensitive. Other than that, Wii basketball fans had to automatically assume that minus the graphics and control methods of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the "same" game, that the options, modes and presentation would stay intact. We don't even have a dynasty mode or franchise mode in the game. If you can release a launch version of Madden 07 on the Wii and have it be the exact same game minus the graphics of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, you can do the same on NBA Live 08 for the Wii. This is a problem seeing as that this game retails fo $49.99 opposed to Playstation 2 being $39.99... Also NBA Live 06 for the Gamecube KILLS this game in terms of modes and presentation, and it's two years old! Even the GCN game was able to put in sig shoes and create/edit modes. EVERYONE knows that the Wii is a more capable system than both the Xbox and GCN so the exclusions are inexcusable. The creation process of this game was so unfair to Nintendo Wii basketball fans and EA should not force Nintendo fans to deal with it. They are all we have for sports games really and it is really sad they are doing Nintendo sports fans so wrong, when we actually support them. I want a recall on this game badly and EA needs to know how bad they screwed this one up. Don't be like Sega Sports NBA2K3 and release a buggy game and try and blame the bad sells on the consoles fanbase when the reaosn it didn't sell is because EVERYONE knew the game was a glitched mess and didn't want to buy crap. This is how boycotts start, and EA needs to right their wrongs on this one. This game isn't going to sell and unless EA Sports does something, I'll make sure to spread the word more so it won't sell anymore.
