Comcast Eliminates houston.rr.com domain

We the undersigned petition Comcast Corporation to retain the use of the houston.rr.com domain, effective permanently for existing houston.rr.com customers.

As a dedicated customer base to Time Warner, we are hopeful that Comcast will hear our petition and offer reasonable creedence to our complaint and request for true customer-oriented service.

This one "small" and "necessary" change from Comcast's perspective has a costly, huge and lasting impact on we the Customer. At a minimum, the impact will include:

- All core and other business accounts must be updated including bank accounts, stock brokerage accounts, utilities for gas and electric, DBAs, domain name registration accounts. This is NOT AS SIMPLE as sending out a forwarding address.
- All personal contacts must be sent a change of address notification. Some will undoubtedly be lost forever.
- Customers won't likely get their simple account names that they have had for YEARS; instead of [email protected] it will be [email protected]
- Customers will need to modify email clients to use the new address / server names for POP3/SMTP servers.
- All printed materials with an email address such as business cards will have to be reprinted.

Though Comcast has stated the certain "necessity" of this change, significant doubt exists from the technically oriented user community as to why this is warranted.

Comcast, please review your decision to eliminate the houston.rr.com domain with the proper technical focus (reviewing feasibility) and with the proper business focus (satisfying a significant customer base).
