Community Stadium for the City of Aberdeen

The undersigned ask Aberdeen City Council to consider the approval of a community stadium to be used by Aberdeen Football Club and the local community. This community stadium would have the following benefits:
A home for Aberdeen Football Club.
The economic benefit of 100,000s of sport fans a year using local bars, restaurants and hotels.
The ability to stage other sporting, and non-sporting events, utilising the stadium 7 days a week. Such as athletics events, rugby matches and concerts.
Greater links between football and the local community.
New facilities and training opportunities for increased public participation in a variety of sports.
Serve as a centre for sporting excellence.
Provide coaching and development, from grass roots training to specialist coaching and development of sportsmen and women.
Become a multi-purpose, year-round, sports and recreation centre.
Offer on-site commercial facilities such as offices, retail units, restaurants & bars.
Create jobs and provide education opportunities.
Provide Aberdeen FC facilities to expand its already extensive Community Coaching scheme.
We urge you to bear this in mind when considering the community stadium proposal. It is an opportunity to create a public/private sector partnership between Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Football Club, the education sectors of Aberdeen City and other sport and community partners, all of whom can share in this landmark facility.
