We, the undersigned, together with the family and friends of Clarence Carter, urge Governor Strickland to commute Carters death sentence, scheduled for July 10, 2007. Clarence Carter was convicted of the murder of Johnny Allen, a fellow prisoner, and sentenced to death. This should not have been a death penalty case Mr. Carter is not the worst of the worst.

The jury received both false information and a lack of necessary information, including:
- Johnny Allen had expressed pre-fight threats against Mr. Carter
- Mr. Allen had been the aggressor
- There was no mitigating evidence presented such as Carters organic brain dysfunction, his borderline IQ, or the exposure to violent role models and racism Carter endured throughout his childhood.

Clarence Carters sentence should be commuted.

Action petitioned for: We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge Governor Strickland to commute the sentence of Clarence Carter to life without parole.
