Conservatives Against Ahmadinejad and For Equality

We, the undersigned, are outraged by Columbia University's willingness to allow someone with a human rights record as abominable as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to use Columbia's podium as a platform for hatred. As conservatives of high moral conscience, we are especially outraged by his thuggish regime's treatment of women and homosexuals. Ahmadinejad's claim that "there are no homosexuals in Iran" flies in the face of the well-known public hanging of two teenage gay boys last summer.

To show our contempt for this disregard for the rights of ALL people, we hereby pledge to never show support for ANY politician, domestic or foreign, who refuses to support FULL LEGAL AND CIVIL rights for homosexuals. We support the American values of freedom and tolerance as called for by civil rights group like the Human Rights Campaign (http://www.hrc.org), and will work against the election of any politician who does not do the same.

If Ahmadinejad's bigotry is unacceptable in Iran, it is unacceptable everywhere.
