CREA Funding Choices

We, the undersigned, through this letter, ask for you to redirect our Membership funds away from advertising and towards lobbying efforts against the punitive legislation that has created FINTRAC and the Do-Not-Call Registry.

We believe that the current advertising campaign involving all forms of media (internet, print, radio, and TV) is ineffectual and an inefficient use of Membership funds.

Recently, two pieces of legislation, the Do-Not-Call Registry and FINTRAC, have been passed that pose a serious risk to the operational and financial viability of our members. Other Associations have successfully lobbied the Government to exempt their industries from these pieces of legislation and your failure to do so is troubling to the membership.

We therefore ask you to suspend funding for the 'How Realtors Help' advertising campaign and redirect all funds towards lobbying efforts to remove the Real Estate Industry from the Do-Not-Call Registry and FINTRAC requirements.
