FROM: Concerned citizens and residents of the Central San Joaquin Valley California area

WHEREAS, the undersigned being concerned citizens and residents of the Central San Joaquin Valley;
AND, WHEREAS, they understand and appreciate that the heart of the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs has been defined as in President Abraham Lincolns solemn promise- to care for him [her] who shall have borne the battle and for his widow [her widower] and his [her] orphan;
AND, WHEREAS, medical care is a key component of the benefits and services enacted by Congress in recognition of the service and sometimes the sacrifice, of the men and women of our Armed Services;
AND ,WHEREAS, we believe that the Central San Joaquin Valley area is seriously underserved currently by the Veterans Administration in providing such medical care and that transportation to out of town facilities is not the answer;
NOW,THEREFORE, we petition for consideration of the creation of a MEGA Veterans Clinic in the Modesto, California area.
