In an effort to address CSULB dirty energy habits, Long Beachs poor air quality, our addiction to fossil fuels over seas, and an impending climate crisis that will ultimately render populated areas of the world unlivable within this century due to global warming, I am circulating this petition to the students of California State University, Long Beach as well as the residents of Long Beach city.
By signing this petition, you are expressing your concern for the crisis of climate change and are demanding that the administrators from the President of CSULB to the Chancellors office sign on to bring 250kw of cheap photovoltaic clean burning solar energy to CSULB, which was originally squashed due to cosmetic parking reasons, and furthermore mandate the Renew CSU contract of 10 megawatts of onsite renewable energy on all 23 campuses by 2014; 20\% clean energy from the grid by 2010; 15\% less energy use per gross square foot from 2004/05 levels by 2009/10; and a policy that all new buildings and major renovations meet the equivalent to LEED 2.1 certified rating. We cant play games with the greatest problem facing Earth today. Sign this petition to start the process that will change the course of our future, before its too late.
