Dawson's Law

Dawson's Law is about violent criminals with child victims registering just as the sex offenders do. People convicted of violent crimes against children will have register for the rest of their lives.

We are lobbying to make all child murders a federal crime under the law and for more strict punishments. These violent offenders are out within a few years, but the families suffer a lifetime.

Dawson passed away on January 24, 2003 at 9 months old as the result of blunt force trauma to the head from 11 brain hemorrhages.

Dawson died not from an accident, he was brutally murdered. The man who did this was Gregory Rose, the live-in boyfriend of Dawson's mom, Audra. He was never a violent man to any of the family. He hid his true colors very well. . Dawson was even his favorite, or so he said.

In a tape the police made of his interview, he says he was angry. This happened because he was angry at Audra for taking the neighbor to the doctor because her child was sick.

Gregory Rose was tried for Murder, but convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter and was sentenced to 30-120 moths in prison. He received credit for time already served and is scheduled to be paroled in July 2005.

We cannot let these criminals get away with murdering children and not receiving the proper punishment.
