Daytime Heating For Pollock Halls

We, the students residing in Pollock Halls, are fed up with the lack of daytime heating in our rooms. The average Edinburgh temperature is between 0 and 10 degrees centigrade during the winter months, and with rival universities in the South having the heating on all day when, on average, Edinburgh is 2 degrees colder, we don't think it makes sense. As our rooms become colder in the day, we over-compensate in the evenings by having them on full, using far more energy than we need.

We demand that you, the University of Edinburgh, allow the heating in Pollock Halls to be turned on all day, making the environment we live and work in more pleasant and motivating, and to give students control over the temperature of their rooms.
