Deborah Kerr is a screen legend who, despite many memorable performances on the silver screen, and six Oscar nominations and one lifetime achievement Oscar to her credit, has only been awarded the title "Commander of the British Empire".
It had been theorized that the reason Ms Kerr was awarded only the CBE was because of her ex-pat status (At the time of her receiving the award, she was living in Switzerland). Now she is back in the United Kingdom with family.
I think that Ms Kerr deserves to have this award and title upgraded to a DBE or "Dame of the British Empire" so she can be honoured more appropriately given her efforts in the Arts and Motion Pictures.
Deborah Kerr's on-screen credits include movies such as "From Here To Eternity", "The King and I", "An Affair To Remember", "The Innocents" and The Gypsy Moths".
So please consider an upgrade to her current award and title of CBE to a DBE, because she deserves it!
And please, fans, sign this petition as a sign of support for this legendary actress, so hopefully atleast someone even remotely connected with the British government or Royalty would see this, and hopefully we can call one of the finest actresses of all time the title of "Dame"!
