We support academic laborersTAs, RAs, GAs, PTIs, faculty, adjuncts, lecturersand understand the fundamental contributions they make to University of New Mexico. In signing this petition, I join a national movement to defend public education. I urge you to put education first and to oppose any budget cuts that would disproportionally affect these laborers who perform some of the Universitys most essential services. Together, we need to make sure the educational, research and achievement goals listed in the University of New Mexicos mission statement can be maintained, even in tough economic times.
