We the undersigned, oppose the use of our tax dollars to fund PBS and NPR. We feel that these stations are engaged in the spread of liberal propaganda, which do not reflect the views of a majority of American people.
PBSs Bill Moyers, after the Democrats defeat in 2002, launched an inaccurate anti-Bush and anti-conservative tirade on his NOW with Bill Moyers broadcast. He has been accused of maintaining shady finances with the foundation he currently runs and questionable funding practices involving funding granted to his son who heads the liberal website Tompaine.com. He uses taxpayer dollars to produce his projects and sells videotapes and audiotapes for personal profit. He also refuses to open his tax records to public scrutiny.
PBS has also shown programs with an anti-Christian bias. It funded a documentary attacking the Boy Scouts's ban on gays with no rebuttal. This while PBS continually airs pro-Islamic documentaries which engage in a cover up of aspects of Islam that PBS finds may not convey a politically correct view of that religion.
Finally, there is no need for PBS or NPR. Cable channels and broadcast networks regularly broadcast PBS programs and make profits from commercial sales of these shows. These programs need to either sink or swim on the private market.
