Delete Inactive Accounts On DeviantART

When first signing up for deviantART, most people sift through their minds, thinking of a good username. Most of them eventually think of one, only to find that it is taken. They check several other usernames before finally, the annoyed person finds a username that is not taken and perhaps a little bit preferable. After all that work of choosing a username, the new deviant goes to check who the owners of those first few wanted names are. Astounded, the person finds that most of these names are in fact taken, but are not being put to good use.
If one randomly chooses a common word and types it in, one will often find one of those tragic events that caused the suffering of the many people mentioned in the previous paragraph. In many cases the page contains nothing. No deviations, no avatar, no journal entries, etc., with the page having been last updated oftentimes more than three years ago. In other cases the page contains several deviations, perhaps a journal or two, and other signs that it was once active. The user, however, last updated several years ago. These accounts are, obviously, dead.
Dead accounts are, in my opinion as well as that of many others, a nuisance to the deviantART community. I am annoyed at the fact that when I hit the random deviant link, a dead account pops up. Inactive accounts are also a complete waste of space, and deleting them could also benefit deviantART moneywise.
There are several ways in which I suggest this problem could be handled. Firstly, an option should be given to deviants, allowing them to delete their account if they choose to leave deviantART. Another possibility could be automatically deleting accounts after they are inactive for a certain period of time.
There are many, many members of deviantART who would benefit if this nuisance were to be eliminated, and I am sure that you are one of them.
