An Associated Press article dated April 16, 2005 by Glen Johnson, "Democrats Adjust Social Security Stance", states that you, the Democratic leadership, are considering compromising with George Bush on Social Security, because some focus groups "frown" on "obstinate" legislators.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS RIDICULOUS NOTION! There have been no legislators more obstinate than the Republicans for the last ten years, and they have been beating the pants off you.
WE INSIST that you, our Democratic leaders, refuse to compromise in any way with George Bush on Social Security. We do not care what these focus groups tell you. We are the Party faithful, and we are telling you not to give Bush anything that can in any way be considered a victory.
WE ARE SICK AND TIRED of Republicans winning election after election. You will be handing them more victories in 2006 and 2008 if you do not stand firm, making certain that Bush falls flat on his face on this issue.
YOU CANNOT COMPROMISE with these bullies. They will walk all over us. Again. And again. And again. Until you stand up against them without failing us.
