"It's an absolutely outrageous decision. I plan to spend at least one of the half-days monitoring teachers to be sure they are actually engaged in professional development."

"Very inconvenient for our family (and work schedules for parents). With children in different DPS schools with different bell times, we are forced to miss a whole day of work for each "half" day of school."
