DIE HARD 4: DIE HARDEST without BRITNEY SPEARS

For 15 years, Die Hard has been mentioned as one of the finest action motion pictures ever to be filmed and its sequels have lived up to the expectations of the receptive audience. Everyone that has been involved in these films are talented people and thats what gives Die Hard its status of one of the best action series ever.

With the upcoming fourth entry in the series, the audience and especially the fans- are expecting nothing but quality. Thats what the three existing films got us used to. After eight years following the release of the third film, DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE we, the fans, were pretty anxious to see if the long wait was worth it.

Unfortunately, the recent announcement of Britney Spears joining the cast has been like a slap on the face for those of us who were expecting the elegance and intelligence these classy action films have displayed over the years. Britney Spears does not have the talent or the personality required to appear in the fourth film of the DIE HARD series. There are dozens of talented young actresses out there and one of them should fit in the role of Lucy McClane. She doesnt necessarily has to be famous, either. People, she only has to be talented. I am pretty sure some of you saw Britney Spears striking talent in the trailer of her movie Crossroads. Can you really say her acting skills are worthy of being in a series that has been graced by the presence and talent of people like Jeremy Irons, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, John Leguizamo and Alan Rickman and keep a straight face?

We also believe that the success of DIE HARD 4: DIE HARDEST shouldnt be compromised because of the presence of Britney Spears. Theres no need to throw a pop star into the mix. How about adding the N*SYNC boys to the cast of the third episode of Star Wars, while youre at it? DIE HARD 4: DIE HARDEST can not be for the same target audience as Britney Spears. They are two different generations and if you want to win over the youngest generation with this DIE HARD film, just make a GOOD film. Theres no need for Britney Spears.

I would very much like the DIE HARD fans and people with common sense to sign this petition so the right people at 20th Century Fox realize this would not be fair to us and it would be a disgrace for the Die Hard films.
