Eddie McHugh was involved in a horrific accident 6 years ago whilst at work and to date has had over 20 operations on both legs. Ultimately, Eddie had to have one of these legs removed and the other is still in a desperate state. Since the accident Eddie has been forced to crawl up the stairs leading to their small home and has lost all form of dignity and self-respect in doing so. Despite the severe pain and discomfort this causes all the family, Eddie's life is at serious risk each time he has to do this. Both Eddie and his wife Angela have fought for 5 years and both suffer depression because of it. Angela's son, Christopher (18) currently lives from a cupboard and sleeps on a sofa as their 2 bedroom home isn't adequate for their family needs and for Eddie's disabled needs. We ask that you sign this petition in support of their plight to show the government authorities this is not acceptable and that after 5 years there is no excuse for suitable accommodation not to have been made available for this overcrowded family and disabled man. Eddie and Angela simply want to regain control of their shattered lives and ask for your kind support in doing so.
