I am appalled by the recent string of lawsuits by the entertainment industry against people who are downloading music. They can't sue the applications that allow for this, so instead they are suing their customers. This petition is on behalf of the millions of radio, club, and private DJs across the world. Every time we DJ at a party, or club, we are promoting their music. In my career as a DJ I have had 10s of thousands of people come up to me and ask me what song I just played, so that they can go buy the CD. So I think it's about time that the music industry starts paying us for promotional fees, plus back pay for the last 50 years. Lets assume that there are 20,000,000 DJs in the World, if we were to get paid just $0.25 for every song that we play, helping to increase the music industry's sales, that would add up to. If the average DJ would work for 6 hours a night, 3 nights a week, and can play an average of 15 songs an hour. that would add up to, $3,510,000,000,000. I say it's time they pay up, and my estimates are very conservative. I would like to file a class action suit against the recording industry for moneys owed DJs for promotional services. If enough people sign this petition, then maybe we can bring about this suit. Only sign this petition if you are a DJ.
