Passing profane remarks on the highest religious personality, criticizing a religion, recommending changes in the divine laws of Islam is called as freedom of expression? Suppose if a person visits a family then starts criticizing their living style, insult their patriarch or patron, and then tell them to amend their code of life, will that be called as freedom of expression? Will the members of that home be silent and mute spectator for insulting their patron? Will they tell the abusing person that what ever you are telling is Freedom of Expression? The answer is no, no, not all.
Islam is a religion and no one is allowed to pass profane or insulting remarks in any form in the name of freedom of expression. Freedom of expression can be availed on issues like government, politicians, government representatives, civic issues, criminal issues, amending laws of a country but freedom of expression can not be used for a religion its absurd to say that its a freedom of expression when a person of lowest stature writes an insulting book. What would you feel if some one starts abusing and insulting you, your family, your patron, and your living style will you tell him that you are doing good job, its freedom of speech go ahead and abuse more?
Taslima Nasreens main intention is to be in lime light and make money by creating problems, in India politicians have already created so much hatred among communities that we dont want another communal clash and we can not be host to another tension in the form of Taslima Nasreen. There are around 30 crore Muslims in India they along with many non Muslims are against her asylum in India. We the signatories to this petition urge the government of India and Kolkata to cancel her visa and deport her to her home land or where ever she wishes to go and let us live in peace.
