Don't euthanize Toro

Life and death should not be a bureaucratic or legislative decision. No one should be put to death based on an unfounded bias or mindless discrimination. Saving lives should not have a profit motive.

It's our opinion that there are no bad dogs, only remiss guardians and misunderstanding.

We understand the need for animals up for adoption not to be a danger to anyone or the community at large, but it is illogical to demand a dog be institutionalized to prison life, before being considered fit for freedom.

Dominant breeds are unfairly discriminated against. Despite the fact that no breed-specific ban has proven any real efficacy- worldwide- these breeds are routinely forced to pay the ultimate price for a culture that has promoted, or at least tolerated, the abuse and exploitation of these animals.

In Colorado, animal cruelty in a class 1 misdemeanor with a $5,000 maximum penalty, while being a pit bull period is punishable by death.

Toro (id# 81396) deserves better. He is a good dog. Toro has people willing to adopt and accept all responsibility and liability for him. He deserves a chance to be adopted.
