Currently in Australia, there is inadequate Education for the Australian Children under the age of 11 years old about the signs and consequences of Grooming both online and in person.
1 in 4 children are reported to of been sexually abused before their 18th birthday. In
Penrith alone with a population of 197,922 (2015), the statistics equates to 49,480 Child victims. Since 2008, recorded incidences of child sexual abuse on a child under 11 years in Australia had increased by 1000%. Grooming is a critical component by a predator, which can take place over an extended period of time with the aim, to befriend, isolate, manipulate with the sole aim of sexually abusing a young child. Children are ill equipped with education about the signs and consequences of online grooming.
Queen of Hearts Community Foundation, registered charity in Penrith, NSW wants every Australian Primary school aged child taught with our online program 'Yell and Tell" online grooming program to support their curiosity for the online world, including interactive games and resources.
Sign this petition to pressure state and federal government to fund this program to reduce the alarming incidences of child sexual abuse on children in our community and society.
