End School Violence

In recent history, school tragedies have plagued our great country. We, the citizens of the United States of America have seen our schools plagued with problems such as drugs, fights, and even cold-blooded murder time and time again, with only the same excuses sent our way regarding the character of the person(s) involved.
It is hereby resolved that the Public School Systems are without the proper materials, staff and training to deal with crisis efficiently.
Violence in a place of learning can be incredibly stressful to the student, who may otherwise be completely dedicated to learning. The fear of being targeted for violent acts can have many effects on the individual, causing grades to suffer, mental anguish, anxiety, and even eventual return aggression. Some of the other effects are sleeplessness, depression, reluctance to explore physical environments, psychosomatic symptoms (such as headaches, and stomach-aches). Not uncommon are mental disorders such as neuroses, eating disorders, lowered self-esteem; Withdrawl..and even post-traumatic stress disorder. (1)
The children of the United States are in terrible danger, not just physically, but mentally as well. Of special concern are recent indications that children are being exposed to servere and chronic violence at younger ages. First and Second graders have reported witnessing high levels of violence by the time they enter ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. (2)
In this world that we live in, it is hard to keep the youth of our great country shielded from the sight of violence, among other morally deficient activites; Why have we not done more to protect them when they need us most?
Again, I state the resolution.
It is hereby resolved that the Public School Systems are without the proper materials, staff and training to deal with crisis efficiently.
Higher levels of government should resolve a plan for the bolstering of such schooling features as counseling, crisis management and conflict deterrance immediately.
