Enough is Enough Permanent Action against 6034 Harrison St.

The blighted property at 6034 Harrison St. is falling apart and has no basic utilities. The property has been substantially deteriorating for years. The owner, Robert D. McLaughlin consistently takes no initiative to restore his property or amend repeated maintenance and nuisance violations.

The property should be declared as a dangerous building and closed temporary as described in Section 56.317 and 56.532 of the KCMO Code of General Ordinances including:
- The building or structure, because of inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, decay, damage, faulty construction or arrangement, trash, filth is determined to be unsafe, unsanitary, unfit for human habitation...
- The building or structure has become an attractive nuisance to children...
- Fire hazard
- The building or structure, because of obsolescence, dilapidated condition, deterioration or damage, is detrimental to the sale, loan or taxable values of surrounding properties...
- The building or structure is in such condition as to constitute a public nuisance known to the common law.

If the property remains closed and in violation for excess of 150 days, the structure should be demolished.
