We are calling for the two main nationally broadcasted football shows "Total Football" and "The World Game" to give fair and equal air-time to all 8 A-League Clubs.
As national broadcasters and so called "protectors of the game" they have a duty to all of Australia to promote the game from all corners of the country. Last night on Total Football, 15 minutes of a 60 minute program was dedicated to Sydney FC. On The World Game last week 75\% of their A-League segment was talking about Sydney FC. This isn't just a one off occurrence, this has been happening every week since the A-League started.
We have no idea what is going on in Perth, Adelaide, New Zealand, Queensland, Central Coast or Newcastle. In the cities where football really needs to be promoted, outside of the two biggest markets (Melbourne and Sydney), football fans can switch on to see their teams being ignored yet again by these two football shows.
We are asking that you take the time and look beyond the passion for your hometown club, and give the same amount of airtime to each of the 8 A-League Clubs.
