Equal Opportunities for PSW Applicants

We, the undersigned, hereby petition Sir Sandford Fleming College to cease the discriminatory selection process for the PSW Bridge to Practical Nursing Program.

At the present time Sir Sandford Fleming College will only accept PSW applicants that hold a Ontario College PSW Certificate. Therefore discriminating against any PSW's who have obtained their certification at a private school.

In Ontario, it is mandatory that all PSW programs cover the same criteria and standards to become certified.

We believe that this discriminatory treatment by Sir Sandford Flemining College and the Nursing Department should not be premitted and call upon Sir Sandford Fleming College to rectify this discrimination by extending equal opportunities for all PSW's who apply for the bridge program.
