Dear Honorable Ladies and Gentlemen of the United States Government,

Since the Great Debate of 1840 between Senators Hayne and Webster, it is apparent that Americans have always been excited by challenging the status quo. Thus, our need for this petition and your attention to it as it presents the implementation of The Crimson Rose.

For years we have offered our Veterans medals in recognition of the service theyve given to this country, but most awards, such as the distinctive Medal of Honor, are only for those who courageously excel and it is usually awarded posthumously. Seems a soldier must die to acquire this heralded award. Yet there are many soldiers, too many in fact, who have courageously excelled by giving their life for this country only to become an insignificant name upon a blanched tombstone, long forgotten in the annals of American History.

American Soldiers have died since the Revolutionary War and will continue to do so long after you and I are nothing more than faint memories, which is why The Crimson Rose is needed now. You see along the way weve forgotten the family members whose sacrifice is as equally great as those soldiers who perished. They have given away something so incredibly valuable to their life, love and liberty: Their husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters.

Hasnt the time come when America gives something back to them?

Most military medals are fashioned for a specific purpose and weve yet to see one whose only purpose is to honor the deceased while offering appreciation to the family: Thus the need for a new medal. The Crimson Rose was designed by Veterans for their families, strictly for their families, to be given at the time of interment, handed to the parent or spouse when the flag is presented.

Please read the accompanying web page for further information regarding The Crimson Rose.

Let me add this, a squib from Common Sense by Thomas Paine
It is easy getting into holes and corners and talking of reconciliation: but do such men seriously consider how difficult the task is, and how dangerous it may prove, should the continent divide thereon? Do they take within their view all the various orders of men whose situation and circumstances, as well as their own, are to be considered therein. Do they put themselves in the place of the sufferer whose all is already gone, and of the soldier, who has quitted all for the defense of his country?

The time to allow the loved ones to be honored for their sacrifice is now. Please establish The Crimson Rose.
