Everyone is Accountable

We, the undersigned, request that you,as the Governor and authority over the Government Standards and Practices Commission, compel the Commission to investigate a complaint filed in 2001 against Judge Daniel Murphy of Linn County. The complaint alleges that Mr. Murphy travelled out of state over a period of at least a year to attend judicial meetings and conferences which served the dual purpose of facilitating an affair Mr. Murphy was having with his paramour. These trips were subsidized by state and federal taxpayer money. This would be neither a costly or lengthy investigation. The Commission's refusal to check into this allegation previously indicates a willingness on their part to cover up any potential unethical findings. If the Commission is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the State of Oregon's governing body, then there is no reason they should refuse to do this.
