Petition for allowance of a domesticated skunk to be imported and reside in the state of Maine for therapeutic purposes for Rebekah Trates.
My name is Rebekah Trates or Becky as most know me as. I am 21 years old & have been chronically ill & bed ridden for 3 years due to being poisoned by a sewer lift station near my home in Florida. We have moved into a rental & we are moving to Maine because the air is cleaner there, & there is less pollution. We have land their & all our family & friends are their as well. Doctors have told us I will not survive living in FL. The state of Maine will not allow my skunk Howard Pepes Le Pewes to live with us in Maine. Doctors have written prescriptions for me to have him, & they still won't let him come to Maine. Animals can be a source of therapy to people with health problems as Howard has been to me. He has helped bring joy to my life & has helped my health a great deal. Please sign this petition so that Howard can continue to live with me & reside with me in Maine so I may be able to heal my body and have my therapeutic skunk by my side.
