Extension of Scottish Premier League 2007-08

We, the undersigned, as fans of Scottish football implore that the SPL extend the current 2007-2008 season to help Rangers attempt to win the UEFA Cup.

It is in the interests of all SPL clubs, and the profile of Scottish Football in general, that this extension is granted. If Rangers are successful this boosts the UEFA co-efficient that could mean more SPL clubs taking part in European Football and at a more advanced stage.

In doing this the SPL would be acting in line with their stated AIMS and OBJECTIVES taken from their website and shown below. Specifically points 1 and 2.

Aims & Objectives
The objectives of the Scottish Premier League are to:
- Build a league competition with standing and recognition throughout Europe;
- Represent and safeguard the interests of its members
- Modernise the league structure and support system
- Maximise the commercial value of Scottish Premier League football by fully exploiting commercial rights and properties;
- Organise a league competition, adhering to rules and regulations set down by the governing bodies of the game and - encouraging attractive and entertaining football;
- Provide leadership in the development of key initiatives to improve the quality of the game in Scotland, particularly youth development, and to set a pace and direction for the whole of Scottish football;
- Liaise with other organisations to ensure effective co-ordination between the Scottish Premier League and other football organisations across the country and across the borders.

THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE SPL MEMBER CLUBS AND THE PROFILE OF SCOTTISH FOOLBALL MUST BE PROTECTED.
A SCOTTISH WINNER OF A EUROPEAN TROPHY WOULD BE A MAJOR ACHEIVEMENT AND THE SPL MUST DO EVERYTHING WITHIN THEIR POWER TO IMPROVE THE CHANCES OF A SCOTTISH WINNER.
