Square Enix, youre saying that your reason behind not including voice-chat is because theres not much of a demand for it, and you'd be willing to include it if there was enough demand. Well, here's hoping.
I would like you to do a survey of your current Windows FFXI players, and ask what percentage of them uses a voice-communication program, and what region they are from. Id be willing to guess at least half of everyone that plays FFXI in America or Europe uses voice-chat.
Obviously, this wont be a problem with Windows; rather, this will be a problem on the PlayStation 3, as we dont have the accessibility to one of these programs.
This game is going to be popular outside of Japan, Square Enix... You need to appeal to the other gamers that will be purchasing this game. We, in America and Europe, like to talk while playing our games, even MMOs. Look at Phantasy Star Universe, and FFXI on the Xbox 360. While there isn't built-in voice-chat in FFXI on the Xbox, often people group-up in party-chats to communicate.
I know that this game is going to be played by people around the world, and that when different languages get thrown together; it usually doesnt work out well. Thats why you include the ability to filter players by region. With this, I can find a group of players I will be able to understand, party-up, and in the middle of a battle, instead of typing out some command, I can just announce it through my headset.
There is enough of a demand to include voice-chat on the PlayStation 3 version, you know it.

Voice Chat is important i think. Espacially for PS3 Users who cant use a program like teamspeak in the back. A Voice chat is the best way to speak while the Users in a dungeon so please give us this feature.

since no mmorpg has voice chat and also noone expects there to be voice chat, I would think that people would voice that it should be implemented if they knew it was a possibility.

FF 14 is going to be pointless if voice chat is not enabled. ppl will get tired quicker and gamplay wit friends will be very slow as well as having to stop and type all the time. it jus doesnt make sense not to have a voice chat

PS3 users will really want voice chat, as it ill be harder to balance a controller and keyboard while playing

Without voice chat, parties on ps3 are just pointless, except for random party duty finder quests. I want to play with friends without joining the hoards of players just standing throughout the world.

This is a massive failure by SE... Ingame voice chat is cheap and EASY to impliment for a developer. And enhances your game 100%
Heck only way that MMO's have been played for YEARS by any sort of idiot is by voice chat... a MMO without voice chat is like
