Five should Audio Describe the most recent episode of Flash Forward

Channel Five television have been showing at least one repeat of each episode of the popular TV series Flash Forward with Audio Description, which is of great benefit to the blind and partially sighted. Audio Description is used by all of the major UK television networks, and in cinemas and on DVD around the world.

Since September last year, ITFC have been providing the description to Five, who have faithfully shown at least one broadcast with the description included. But now, because of "technical difficulties", Five are refusing to show episode 17 with the descriptive track.

Given that at time of writing there are 2 scheduled repeats of the episode to follow, Five have no excuse for not using the audio description. Doing so will not impact any viewers of the program who do not need to use description, as it is turned off in all Satellite and Freeview equipment by default. Five are being discriminatory, careless and cruel by omitting the description, especially since they already have it available, and have used the 16 previous described tracks.

Five should show at least one of the repeats with description, or make a broadcast available with the description at their earliest opportunity. We are not asking for a prime time broadcast, but we surely have the right to accessible television where most of the work has already been done!
