Dear TO whomever this concerns,
Students these days are losing their concentration when it comes to schoolwork and homework. Also according to the teachers, they don't seem to have the stamina to stay focused and driven to do work completely. Myself, and other students of GlenOak are just a little overstressed over the idea that we have to do most schoolwork in complete silence. We ask, " What for?"
I hope by this petition, I'll be able to help persudae the decision of the School's Board of Education allow students to listen to the music of their choice, while staying school- appropriate, while doing schoolwork and not when the teacher is teaching their lesson. The idea may be overstretching it and maybe a very silly one. But in fact, it can be proven that it works and helps high school students work much faster and be easier for them to concentrate. But, wouldn't music take away the concentration? Not nessessarily. Most students don't like working in silence because it bores them and tends to make work boring, which makes them not want to do it. SO saying that, music should wake them up and actually put then in the mood, and what have you, to do the work needed to be done.

i agree. music would help me stay awake and concentrate better. whenever i do my homework at home i either listen to the radio or the television because i can concentrate on it more. i dont know why, but it works.

I agree whole heartedly and believe this can be ver beneficial to students. Of course the privilige can be taken away at the teachers discretion.

We don't go to Glenoak, but we think that the petition is very much poorly written. Nobody is going to take you seriously, that is the dumbest petition we've ever seen! : )
