ROBBIE FOWLER insists he hasn't yet made his Anfield farewell.
And the Liverpool striker still believes he can prove himself worthy of a new contract to keep himself at the club next season, despite the lingering doubts of his manager Rafael Benitez.
The 31-year-old was given a rousing reception at Anfield on Saturday when the Liverpool players lapped the pitch in their traditional farewell for the season.
His name was chanted around the stadium but Fowler is adamant that he doesn't want that to turn out to be the moment he said his goodbyes to the supporters.
"It was a touching moment for me when the fans were chanting my name at the end of the game, but I hope they don't think it was a send-off for me," he said.
"I haven't heard anything about a new contract but I'm still hoping that Saturday won't be my last game at Anfield for Liverpool.
