Freedom for Dr. Ramin JAHANBEGLOO

On April/2006 Dr. Ramin JAHANBEGLOO was apprehended by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran brought several serious criminal charges against Dr. JAHANBEGLOO; such as, espionage which carries death sentence in Iran. Now, Dr. JAHANBEGLOO is incarcerated in Evin Prison due to pending charges.

















The criminal charges against Dr. JAHANBEGLOO has no merit because the Islamic Republic of Iran is in state of paranoid at all times. The Islamic Republic of Iran accuses anyone of espionage. For example, in 2003, there was another case with respect to an Iranian-Canadian journalist with name of Ms. Zahra KAZEMI was accused of espionage, and during course of interrogation, she was murdered in cold blood, in the hands of Islamic Republic of Iran's agent.

















Highlighting Dr. Ramin JAHANBEGLOO is an Iranian-Canadian political philosopher, who has written 20 books; such as, "Iran: Between Tradition and Modernity" published in 2004. Most importantly, Dr. JAHANBEGLOO took a firm stand against the Islamic Republic of Iran for denying Holocaust. He published an article for Spanish newspaper El Pais and defended victim of Holocaust.

















Therefore, the Islamic Republic of Iran was vulnerable to Dr. JAHANBEGLOO's intellectual criticism against the theology state of Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran fabricated evidences against him in order to silent this Iranian-Canadian voice of reason and preacher of freedom.

















Kindly, support this petition so that we can tell the Islamic Republic of Iran in one collective voice no more Zahra KAZEMI. Freedom must prevail. Dr. JAHANBEGLOO must return safely to his family. There is no doubt that this family man, who has one child, they are anxious to see him.
