To human rights groups and international advocacy organizations:
On Friday, August 8, 2008, Masoud kurdpoor, a teacher, was arrested after being summoned by headquarter office of the Iran Ministry of Intelligence and Security in province of Bookan.
Masoud is also a journialist whose articles have been published in Arya, Jameh, Iran Farda, and Asre Azadegan news papers. In addition, he has cooperated with Didgah and Sirvan weekly journals in Kordestan.
In addition, Masoud is human rights and environmental activist and a member of the Environmental Protection Agency of Kordestan.
Masoud Kardivar was allegedly accused and subsequently convicted of вprovokingв students not to attend classes. As a result of his conviction, he was exiled to province of Takaab for two years. Since his arrest, the named intelligence agency has kept him in detention and has refused to provide any information to his family as to his whereabouts and condition.
Masoudвs family and the undersigned are gravely concerned for his safety and are in need of human rights groups and international advocacy organizationsв assistance to obtain information about Masoudвs condition and to demand for his immediate release.
