Sick of tired being stuck in traffic around the Mount Helen/Mount Clear/Canadian Lakes roads (carparks!!), during peak periods for up to 35 minutes at a time? This is a chance to have YOUR say!
Council is continuing to process and approve residential and commercial developments in the area, without any improvement in the road infrastructure.
A set of traffic lights at Midvale, instead of the current roundabout, was taunted some time ago. We have not seen any action in this regard, nor do we feel that this will actually help the current traffic congestion experienced at peak periods.
In recent times, approved developments which are still being built upon/developed include:
Sovereign Estate off Whitehorse Road, Mount Clear;
Sailors Gully off Hocking Avenue;
Creekside Close near Hermitage Avenue; and,
Tandara in Buninyong.
These dvelopments are still yet to impact the traffic corridor between Ballarat and Buninyong. There has also been further talks about more businesses being built/situated in the Technology Park area of the University precinct, let alone the new IBM centre and ongoing expansions at the University.
We seek to HALT any development (residential or commercial) in the Ballarat-Buninyong Corridor, until such time that the appropriate infrastructure is improved/replaced so it can cope with current and future demands during peak periods.
Please sign, have your say, and the petition will be presented to Council, VicRoads, and local Members of Parliament. Hopefully together, we can make a difference.
