Get rid of the Bowl Championship Series

This petition is to make the BCS committee aware that the fans of college football won't put up with the Bowl Championship Series and it's organizers any longer. We deserve a playoff system and we've been waiting far too long for it.

The BCS is a way for the corporations who sponsor these games, as well as, the committee itself, the schools involved, and the conferences involved to make the largest possible income. They take advantage of the fan that will support his/her team no matter the circumstances or system. There are millions of us like this in America and it's time we stand up to these money hogs and speak our minds.

Signing this petition will add one more name to a list that I hope will get large enough to make the public as well as the BCS committee, the presidents of the universities and conferences, and the media to open their eyes and realize just how much the fans of college football want to see change. We ask that a playoff system is formed that allows any Division 1-A team equal oppurtunity to take part in and ultimately crown a true champion.

The people that organize the BCS will argue that tradition will be negatively effected if a playoff system is established. They'll say that a playoff system is not viable to the student athlete. They'll make up any story to get you to believe that the BCS is the best option. Truth be told, it's the only way for them to make the most money.

There is nothing fair about excluding half of the teams in Division 1-A from ever having a chance at a title. For one of these teams, simply getting into a playoff could generate new dollars, players, and fans than ever before for that school.
There is nothing fair about not allowing the #1 team in the country (as voted on by the 2 voting factions) the right to play for the title.
There is nothing viable or final about crowning 2 champions.

All other divisions in football, as well as, all other college sports have playoff systems that work flawlessly and are able to crown true champions, which is ultimately what the fans of the games want to see.
