Give Wayne Rooney what he deserves

I, as an England fan, believe that Wayne Rooney should not be playing for England, since he is a disgrace to our country, especially after his behaviour against Spain.

In any situation, throwing a black armband to the ground is a COMPLETE DISGRACE. Even if he did it because he wanted to throw something in anger, this is totally unacceptable. What makes it even worse is that he would not apologise afterwards, for possibly the most disgraceful thing in football. Even when we see players like Diouf spitting, which is also out of order, it seems pretty mild compared to the disrespect, to not only Emlyn Hughes, but the England team, supporters and manager. The breaking of such a sensetive taboo by such an immature football player. The bottom line is that he should have been substitued anyway and the whole country new it (except Rooney for some reason!).

Just over 6 years, David Beckham was slaughtered by the England press and fans for his reaction to Diego Simeone's poor challenge, and winding him up. Although we should not see this in football, surely the press overreacted, and it's not just a hothead would react in the same way as the now England skipper. When compared to the Rooney incident, surely there is no comparison, David Beckham at least had the decency to apologise to the English public, for something that seems normal compared to what Rooney did.

I urge all England fans, and the public, even if you have no interest, to sign this petition in order to try and get Rooney out of football. I find that the reputation that Rooney has and will bring to England, is much worse than having one less striker; who in my opinion is overrated. Keeping Rooney in the squad would bring the reputation of this great country so low, that even winning the world cup in Germany would not make up for it.
