Halting Production of the Remake of "The Wild Bunch"

Dear Warner Brotherss production staff and Mr. David Ayer,

We are very great fans of the movies you produce. However, we are deeply concerned about a current film in production: a remake of The Wild Bunch. While remakes are a common staple of filmmaking and there have been many good remakes in the history of cinema, we feel it is inappropriate to remake this 1969 classic by Sam Peckinpah. The film is already commonly known about by many and is well regarded. It is a deeply personal film and has influenced many filmmakers. It has made many Top 10 lists in critic polls. There seems to be little reason to remake this film. Also, given the recent failures of such remakes as Bewitched and The Manchurian Candidate, there is little reason you could profit from such a remake. We implore you both to cancel production of this unnecessary remake and focus your creative energies on developing an original film and helping develop the language of cinema, like The Wild Bunch did in 1969. We hope you will make the right decision in this matter.
