The Fort Museum of the North West Mounted Police in Fort Macleod, AB is in jeopardy of losing it's main tourist attraction, the Musical Ride, due to the loss of the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP). Please support the Museum by signing this petition to the Town of Fort Macleod, M.D. of Willow Creek, and the Government of Alberta to show that we want to keep a valuable piece of Canadian history in Fort Macleod.
The Musical Ride is a recreation of the first equine riding demonstration that was performed in Fort Macleod in 1876 by the North West Mounted Police. The Ride has been an important and iconic part of the town for 40 years and attracts over 20,000 tourists to the region every year. Tourism is an important industry in the Town of Fort Macleod and effects the survival of many local businesses.
