- We, the undersigned, feel that the taxpayers of Hereford City should not be expected to fund the organisation 2XL, which has proven links with Freedom Church.
- We believe financing 2XL means financing the church. Monetary issues aside, we are also concerned for the wellbeing and emotional development of the children that 2XL has regular contact with.
- The main members of 2XL hold fundamentalist beliefs that do not reflect the values of mainstream UK society. They may have guidelines set out by the government, but they can- and have- worked around them to promote intolerant views on homosexuality, gender and reproduction, specifically abortion.
- Not only that, they are able to coax vulnerable children into their church through 2XL, where they are not bound by government guidelines. It has been demonstrated that the leaders of this church hold and promote discriminatory views.
- That 2XL may be a cheaper option for the council should hold no sway on this- our children and promoting tolerance are far more important than a few saved pennies.
