Re: Installation of traffic signal, Highway 7 and Bradwick Drive.
We, the undersigned, are hereby petitioning to expedite the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Highway 7 and Bradwick Drive.
Over the last few years there have been several accidents at this intersection due to its configuration, the geometry of Highway 7 coming from the north-east, the speed of the traffic on Highway 7 and the timing of the lights at the next intersections in each direction on Highway 7. Anyone who has attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 7 from Bradwick Drive (especially at night when it is more difficult to judge how far away intersecting traffic is) will understand that it is only a matter of time until someone dies at this intersection. We, the people, can not wait until York Regions studies show what we already know: it is time for a traffic signal to be installed. Thousands of us travel this road daily to and from work. As a result we know that this intersection is a "DEATH TRAP"!
This is the only intersection on Highway 7 for many, many kilometres that does not have a traffic signal. Too much time has already passed and it is imperative that we get this light project pushed to a top priority ASAP!
