Human/Pre-Human/Non-Human Right to Life

Whether you are a Conservative, a Liberal, or anywhere in between, I believe that this is a fair compromise and both sides will feel they've won. My suggestion is that one side agrees to give up meat and the other side agrees to give up abortions. Please join me and take up my cause with me.

I liken this to Amendemnt XIII, which emancipated the slaves. My proposal is to have this be an Amendment to the constitution, and to have it not take affect until several years after its ratification in order to alleviate the impact on the economy. The economy, as I see things, is the only weakness in my proposal because the economy would probably take a big hit from the removal of meat. However, I do believe we thought the same thing might have happened back when we freed the slaves. But the economy survived. Taking all things into consideration, I believe that the preservation of the economy, or part of it, is not at all a strong enough reason to reject my proposal of life, nor was it a strong enough reason to reject Amendment XIII.

Each side in the argument about pro-life and animal liberation "knows" it is right. There are many people on both sides who will never change their minds. I realize this and I am by no means trying to persuade anyone to change their minds. Instead, I am offering victory to each side. Giving up the luxury of meat is a small price to pay for pro-life advocates to acheive their ultimate goal; likewise, giving up the right to abortion is, I think, a small price to pay for animal rights advocates to achieve their goal.

Whatever religion you are or whatever political affiliation you have, there is no reason to not do this.
