It was reported on CNN that the state of Texas may ban gay foster parents. The bill was introduced by a Republican Representative named Robert Talton. This bill, if approved, will remove children already under the care of gay parents and will barr a gay person from serving as a foster parent in the future. Social workers will be forced to screen for sexual orientation. Over 2,500 children will be displaced and affected by this bill. It is crucial that we speak up about this event. It has been proven that sexual orientation has no negative consequence on children raised in these homes. As a Child Psychologist as well as the sister of a lesbian mother who is highly dedicated to her smart, happy well-adjusted daughter I strongly oppose the ban on gay parents being allowed to be foster or adoptive parents in Texas.
