We the undersigned will not tolerate the way we have been treated at this years and previous reading festivals by Specialised Security. Festival goers are physically and verbally antagonised by specialised security members looking for a reason to use physical force on drunken Festival goers. Witnesses have reported security guards beating teenage boys for minor offences and confiscating any equipment used to record this crime. The crowd control inside the arena was near to excellent but the Security Patrols that patrol the campsite are know more than thugs looking for an excuse to apprehend criminals. The security guards have no more legal powers than I have to confiscate legal items such as batteries and guitars or place people under arrest for minor if any crimes. We understand the need for security patrols and police but, could this point please be explained to your employees, if your employees obey these small legal technicalities then there will be no problems next year.

On the sunday evening, in front of the main entrance to the arena, a security guard punched me in the ribs for being part of a crowd, and for no other reason. I am 17 and 5'6''. I'm sure this is not an isolated incident.
