Incorporation Proposal for the Village of Big White, BC

We, the undersigned, would support the undertaking of a ‘Big White Municipal Incorporation Study’ to examine all aspects of possible incorporation under the the BC Mountain Resort Associations Act. (A 14 page guide to this Act can be obtained online.) The Big White Municipal Incorporation Study would be conducted with the supervision and support of the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development and the Kootenay Boundary Regional District and by a committee (Governance Committee) representing a cross section of property owners at Big White. The study would document details of possible Municipal incorporation including financial forecasts of the potential taxations impacts. This information would be presented to Big White property owners in at least two public meetings. We, further understand that no incorporation would be considered by the Province of British Columbia until a Municipal Incorporation referendum is passed by the property owners at Big White.
